w i t c h e s  : modern healers (or white witch)

Young girls with strong magic and the will of the good thrumming through their veins. Healers, or white witches, use their powers with the best of intentions. Herbs, potions, and remedies litter their desks and clutter their shelves. They spend their days tending their herb gardens, crafting flower crowns imbued with kind thoughts, brewing love potions and pain stoppers, and piecing jewelry to bring luck. There is no room for darkness in their hearts, only love and happiness.

*invites you into my blanket fort* lets talk about the paranormal and witchcraft

Modern Witches

primixthe:

- Nervous witches collecting rainwater in mason jars and purifying it for non visibility spells. Dousing their wrists and necks and behind their ears to prevent unwanted attention.

- Witches brewing tea and coffee and leaving it to sit for days so that the spirits in their homes will be pleased.

- Twenty year old witches squinting at their scrawled runes in a composition notebook in a cramped apartment as they study for exams.

- Witches arming themselves with non-lethal hexes and curses when they have to walk at night in the city because you can never be too careful.

- Witches adopting their black cats from shelters, and maybe several other cats that aren’t black as well.

- Witches creating fairy lights of floating candles that sometimes drip wax on the floor but will refuse to burn the witch’s dwelling.

- Familiars doubling as therapy pets and service dogs.

witches around the globe → new york city
witches who live in new york city live in a land of dreams - the city that never sleeps. 2am rituals, spells in the abandoned subways, cursing any boys who mess with them. it barely matters they can’t see the stars - they say their wishes as the city lights up the night.

city witches
the city is more than a home to them. it is a tool box. it is a crossroads. it is a book, a meeting place, a blank canvas. it is a fort - their fort - and it needs defending.

they dwell between unwatched clock hands, in the darkest creases of time, where neither moon nor sun are visible. (it is called the witching hour for a reason.)
and yet, there are stars.

that-beautiful-jerk:

Modern witches who keep their potions in empty water bottles and tupperware with their purpose scrawled on them in sharpie. Witches who buy cute little bottles from Hobby Lobby and Michael’s so that their potion cabinet will look cute. Witches who’s spell books are messy, thoughtless, scribbled in notebooks with like five different pen colors on one page bc they kept losing their pen, ironically while writing a pen finding spell. Witches who brew potions in hello kitty tea kettles and pikachu pots. Witches who have spells in the notes folder of their phone, and who enchant their phones and wallets so they won’t lose them. Just give me all the cute, modern witches. Give me all of them.
